        What a gem this place is! We had a lovely seafood chowder with a warm bread bun topped with melted cheese and onion - yummy! My husband's mango and hibiscus and orange and cardamon ice creams were delicious. Would definitely recommend eating in the cafe upstairs! x

        I've been twice - a year between visits. The two ice creams I was served are in competition for worst ice cream I have tasted. On the first visit my dad refused to eat his and binned it. The second time my 5-year old nephew refused his (both flavours!). The place has some great reviews for its food in the cafe, and I'm sure that's true. I'm also sure that dairy-free ice cream (as many flavours are) is tricky to get right. But if you can't improve it, just stop..... And at 4 a cone? Come on!!

        Well, what a lovely experience it was having lunch at Sweetmeats. Eclectic, funky and the food was delicious (and reasonably priced!). No boring sandwiches here but handmade, to order, delicious food. Salads, soups, cakes, hot meals, lovely coffee and somehow, apart from serving and cooking and baking and prepping, the owner also manages to make delicious ice cream, chocolates and fudge. We cannot recommend this place enough. Graham and Jane
