I'll make this short as I already sent a detailed inquiry directly to De Vere, but they haven't gotten back to me for whatever reason. My partner and I came here for an afternoon tea for her birthday. 1. There was no decaf tea available, something that we were told would be available when originally booking. My partner can't have caffeine 2. We were not told our afternoon tea would overlap with a wedding. This meant the room we were in was extremely noisy (the reception was in the same room), service was slow (the wedding had priority) and the bar was pretty much inaccessible 3. Again, our dietry requests which were mentioned when we booked were not respected and we had to ask for different sandwiches twice 4. After being promised a birthday desert, I had to remind the staff three times before it was brought out The actual afternoon tea when we did eventually get it was nice and the views from the hotel are good. When the wedding reception finished we were able to actually enjoy the experience, but the above issues could have been totally avoided. What a shame.

Been going to this hotel for years to stay and we also pop in for a drink and meal. Today popped in for a drink. The white wine was kept in a fridge that was not working, no ice at at all, no Rioja wine dispute being on the list. Had to change wine glass it was dirty. I do hope this improves because it is such a nice place to visit and stay.

Had one night away on a deal, superior room with a view. Room was nice, bed was comfy and we had double doors to open. Have to say the staff couldn't have been nicer, the food was very good and the building and area really are worth a visit. Such a relaxing beautiful place to relax and unwind in.

Booked the hotel through Secret Escapes and never been here before as I'm not from Buckinghamshire. The photos on the advertisement looked great; however when we got there the bed was like sleeping on a brick and the pillows werent the best. The headboard had quite a lot of little brown stains dotted all over it. We discovered the bed was on wheels which was a shock to both of us. We weren't really a fan of lying on a bed with wheels. We both got a max of like 2hrs sleep per night and my partner heard a dog bark at 2am in the morning on Saturday morning (we are aware that dogs can stay) and the walls weren't very sound proof as we could hear everybody in the corridor passing by. Also the curtain rail puller was detached to the curtains? We didn't even know we were entitled to the gym, pool and spa from booking through secret escapes as they never included it on the email which was very disappointing. The bathroom was okay but we both found that the toilet seat was placed quiet high up and we were very confused with the shower switch. It could of included a wall standing soap pump like what they had for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel instead of providing the tiniest bar of soap. Face clothes would of been nice to of been provided. As well as this, it was very compressed as every time I went in I kept on hitting my groin on the sink as the door only opened so far. The shower door was quite wide literally less than 1cm above the toilet seat and the top of the bath the wood was looking like it was getting a bit rotten. The view was nice although very close to our neighbours to the point where you could just poke your head round to see their room and the chair had bird poo on it as well. The doors to the balcon were very confusing to open. Booked a table on the Friday night at the hotel restaurant for dinner and in our wardrobe we had a ironing board but no iron. We were waiting at least an hour maybe a little bit more and it took two attempts to go to reception for us to actually recieve an iron in time for dinner. When we got to our table for dinner staff were very friendly and welcoming, but the food wasn't worth the prices that they were charged for. Breakfast was nice, standard English breakfast, cooked really nice. Coffee machine could of been better but that wasn't much of a bother to us. There was a lot of juice but I didn't know what flavour they were apart from orange as they're weren't any labels. I think this would of helped others out as well who haven't really been there. The morning of our checkout after breakfast our key cards decided not to work so we needed to go to reception to get a replacement. It was very bazzair. Problems with radiator- valtey nob to reduce or increase temperature. Location was nice but country roads were very narrow.
