Really disappointing. We booked The Lodge for Christmas 2022 a year in advance. They failed to respond to any emails in the two weeks leading up to Christmas. Then, when we arrived on 23rd December after a 6 hour drive the lodge was absolutely freezing (10 degrees) inside as no one had turned on the heating. To try and heat the place up faster we tried to light a fire but they hadn't stocked the firewood and there was no kindling available. We even had to buy our own toilet roll, kindling and bin bags. My husband slipped and broke two ribs on the slippery steps in front of the property and we ended up leaving two days early as everyone got sick. I emailed the owners to explain we had left early and have not even had a response.

We stayed at Edenhall for a long weekend, the team were incredibly helpful! The cottage was stunning, everything you need and furnished in a boutique style! The location is very private, beds are luxurious and the wood fired hot tub was incredible! Beyond what we expected! We visited the local pub and the locals were so friendly. The perfect bolt hole to visit the lakes from too!! We cant fault our stay and will be returning in the spring!

My wife and I stayed at the Romey lodge in October this year and while the lodge and location are beautiful we were extremely disappointed by how it is managed. The huts are heated only by a wood burner, and when we arrived late into the evening we found we were not provided with kindling, and only had wet logs which wouldnt fit into the stove. We tried contacting the numbers provided, including the emergency number and received no answer or call back. We had no reply from the emergency number at all over our 2 days spent there which we felt was extremely concerning. Considering how expensive the lodges are to stay in it is woefully run and I would recommend saving your money and going elsewhere!
