What a truly wonderful place to stay! With glorious views of the Cumbrian Fells out of one sitting room window and The Pennines out of the other the joys of this both beautifully located and appointed self catering property were immediately obvious as was the fact that we were on to a winner. The Coach House is easy to find tucked away in a very peaceful rural idyll. Greeted by the charming owner on arrival we were delighted to find the Old Coach House had everything we could have wanted for our stay. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable with high quality furnishings, fully equipped kitchen, lovely showers and excellent WiFi. The Old Coach Houses location allows easy access to the glories of The Lake District, only a 15 minute drive away and the wild remote beauty of the Yorkshire Moors 30 minutes in the other direction. If you dont want to cook there are excellent eateries dotted across the local villages. We had a superb breakfast in The Old Village Bakery in Melmerby and a stunning supper at The Shepherds Inn also in Melmerby, (take your stretchy pants, the portions are huge!) If you do want to cook there are super food shops in the area, Cranstons Supermarket in Penrith is well worth a visit. We had a glorious week that was filled with loads to see, wonderful food, and we left rested, relaxed and with fresh air in our lungs. We cannot recommend The Old Coach House more highly.
