Heartwood

We commissioned a huge and beautiful kitchen table with a 'cement' top and solid oak legs. Chris took great care getting the design exactly right in discussion with us. We are delighted with the result although I found the originsl height we had decided was a bit high , so they altered it for us and it is now perfect and very much admired. So much so that we are now considering ordering a coffee table.

Heartwood have done various jobs for us over the years including custom shelving units, office furniture and most recently a kitchen refurbishment. They have always been absolutely brilliant to work with from the planning stage, where they come up with ideas you would never have thought of, to the final installation where their levels of craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to none. Their understanding of traditional cabinet making as well us super-modern design means they can do pretty much anything you want and they are always very accommodating - even with annoying customers like us! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a new kitchen or any bespoke piece of furniture.

I deliberated on my kitchen for a year, choosing the style, changing my mind, choosing another style, changing my mind and so it went on, this was before finding someone who was going to make it, I had had a few kitchen companies out but felt they were all a bit mainstream, I was then recommended to heartwood so thought i would get a quote, Chris came over and talked through designs, I immediately felt that Chris was on my wavelength, which is sometimes tricky! He was efficient, had some great ideas and nothing was a problem. Chris knew that I had a touch of "champagne taste and lemonade money" so talked through options that were in my budget and how I could achieved the look but on a tightish budget. After lots of going back and forth with design and heaps of patience....on Chris's side we decided on design and materials! Chris sourced everything and began to make. I was scared at first because it was a totally bespoke kitchen and worktops and wouldn't see what it would look like until it was made. Chris was amazing, kept in contact throughout the build and I visited a couple of times, there seemed to be no end to his patience and talent and of the day of installation everything was perfect, I've heard so many horror kitchen stories but I have to say I was very lucky to have come across heartwood kitchens and would recommend to the whole world. A year down the line we still say it was the best thing we have done, the quality of build is first class and everyone loves it! Also love using local independent companies and this is one of those special ones.
