I happened to break down on my old motorbike, riding home to Chessington from Newlands Corner, couple of weeks ago. I managed to roll to a halt at the top of the tiny country lane that leads to the late Bamber Gascoignes Grange Park Opera, where, to my surprise and delight, I found the most excellent cafe, in the form of a beautifully converted milk float, complete with barista coffee, croissants, sandwiches, home-made cakes, &c, &c.. there were also a good few picnic-tables, and the sun was shining! - bliss! Fast-forward another couple of hours, and Marsha, proprietress, had shut up shop and was leaving; on finding me waiting, still, by my bike, for AA rescue, she was kind enough to inquire as to my well-being, and give me a bottle of water - most welcome
