Please avoid booking the Manor Barn ( also known as the Quad and previously The Wellisford Manor Barn, at all costs. The person who owns it has just refused any refunds to people booking during the covid19 crisis . There are at least five families who are owed 2,500 for weekends booked between 23rd March and June 18th, which by law , at the moment she is legally required to do. And maybe more, that my family don't know about . The owner has refused to repay my 91 year old mother who was taking her children and grandchildren away .. probably for our last family holiday. Very shabby. I'm sure it was lovely some years ago but it's been looked after like a student house. The walls are full of marks and scuffs and odd patches of paint. There are empty spaces where pictures and mirrors used to hang on the walls. The Internet was next to useless and would frequently boot you off the WiFi (which only seemed to work within about 4 metres of the router). There's a Sky TV box which can barely access any channels, we managed to pick up less than a handful. The hobs in the kitchen didn't all work, and the pans don't all work with the induction hobs so there's a lot of guesswork involved trying to find a pan and hob that works. There was a very unpleasant smell coming from the utility room next to the kitchen too. There were lots of dead flies, wasps and spiders everywhere. The instructions state that they don't clean away the cobwebs and it showed. The places was covered with them and the bedroom floor had a painted toenail clipping included for free. No music system for such a large property is odd, as is the tiny singular TV in the giant lounge area. 1 star review because it was warm and dry inside. Lots of light bulbs need replacing too, some even had missing fixtures. I wouldn't stay here again. Dec 3rd, 2020
