Negatives:
-Complete free for all meaning people allowed to pitch far close to others. Someone pitched so close to my tent their car was over my tent pegs, while there was 20m space on the other side. Numbered pitches or the owner being present would avoid this.
-Billed as a peaceful site. I've never been on one as loud with Loud music played until after 1am. (Why is it always the people with the worst taste in music are the ones who play theirs the loudest)
-Uncut long grass
-Drinking water tap not working
-Only 2 showers and 2 toilets insufficient for size of site. Toilets were a long walk from the tent field. Due to toilets being next to the road they were used by passing walkers which meant queues to use. Toilets were locked shut overnight.
-Showers were cold
-No washing up facilities meaning people were using the 2x bathroom sinks which is not hygienic.
-A car (The owners?) deliberately parked across the tent field entrance at night, meaning after being out doing astrophotography, I couldn't drive into the field. Surely blocking off the entrance is a safety issue?
-Owner nowhere to be seen. Could easily have turned up without paying as no checks on who was entering and leaving. When I phoned on entering, he seemed a bit clueless.
-Overhanging, sharp steps to enter the shower/toilet block. I caught my toe on the overhang on entering and badly sliced my toe open, requiring medical attention. I won't be the last person to do this on the steps. Due to this I ended up packing up and going home.
I'll stick to the established sites that don't use pitchup in future
