The Choice To Change Psychotherapy in Times of Crisis

With Genovieves EMDR I had to the opportunity to work through anxieties and rebalance my work-life. I addressed the past traumas , journeyed into it, and work to change the thoughts of it in the present and my behaviours and my views changed.

I started EMDR therapy with Genovieve without any expectations but I had no idea the experience would be so deeply profound. Genovieve made me feel comfortable to share anything and everything from day one. The work weve done has helped start the deep emotional, spiritual and physical healing my mind and body need in order to finally reconnect with myself. It just so happened that I began dealing with a difficult and emotional health issue during the time we worked together and having Genovieves support and therapy through this time made it so much easier. I couldnt imagine feeling as strong and connected with myself as I do now, without having found Genovieve. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

After my young daughter died last year, I needed support. I needed a place to let it all out and work out how to cope with the trauma I had witnessed. Using EMDR Genovieve helped me become stronger and more able to face into things like our first Christmas, the inquest and frankly just getting through the days. Im not out of the woods yet but talking with Genovieve helped me with coping mechanisms and just giving myself permission to sit with these feelings. A safe space when you feel totally out of place in the world.

My 7 year old son started working with Genovieve Feasey from The Choice to Change after he had a terrible accident where not only he was severely injured, he suffered the sadness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Finding The Choice to Change has saved my son and restored our happy family that was lost after this accident. As soon as my son met Genovieve I knew she was the right person to help him, she was highly professional and knowledgeable but also so kind, caring and patient with him. He bonded with her from the first meeting and thereafter going to see Genovieve became a daily talking point in our household and the exercises she gave us to do every evening were the highlight of my sons day. My sons personality changed so rapidly after his accident, he was sad all the time, withdrawn and unable to cope with daily life. An experience that as a parent was so very distressing and with my self-help methods not working, I knew the only way to get him on the right path to recovery was to gain professional help. Genovieve used EMDR in her therapy methods to treat my sons negative recall and emotions, as well as all its protocols. My son absolutely loved his sessions with Genovieve, although they had an important purpose, he never saw the therapy in that way, he got to think about the scariest incident in his life and not be scared anymore. He drew pictures, played games and repeated actions. Every session was uplifting, well planned and age appropriate. There were many tears I tried to hold back whilst he spoke of his fear of what happened that day, but on his last session when he rated his fear as 0 out of 10 I knew he was better and that Genovieve had done the wonderful job and made my son mentally healthy once again. I cannot recommended The Choice to Change enough, if you or your child needs support in this area then you will most defiantly get that and much more, she really is a fantastic Psychotherapist and person and I will be forever grateful for all her support and help she has given to my family.
