This place is an amazing care home! My nanna is there and there is amazing care for her!

My Mum moved into Grey Gables a few weeks ago. She's settled in well and is happier than I've seen her after she supported my Dad as he declined with Cancer and struggled with her own dementia. The home has a real family feel to it. All the carers I've met and talked to are excellent. They treat the residents with care and respect creating a fun, happy environment and as this is a dementia specialist home they have the patience of Saints. It's a difficult decision moving a parent into a care home. I wasn't able to visit and view the accommodation due to covid restrictions, but all the district nurses who were caring for my Dad had nothing but praise for the home. During covid times they are observing strict rules to keep the residents safe with regular testing of staff. My Mum was tested prior to admission and seen withing a couple of days by a doctor to review her condition and assess her needs. Unfortunately no visits at the moment, but they did let my Mum attend Dad's funeral with strict requirements. They did her hair, nails and kept reminding her where she was going. Mum was a little confused returning back after the funeral. She was met at the door and immediately put at ease with kind words and of course a cup of tea. They have a FB private group for family members and have posted videos of Mum singing and dancing, which is a joy to see after the difficult life she had in the past year. Highly recommended and a huge thank you to all the carers for giving my Mum a life where she's happy and feels safe and for putting my mind at rest every time I call.
