        In august my husband, youngest son and I spent our holiday in the Lake District. Visiting Lancaster we bought a few books en jigsaws in Assembled Books, Assembly Rooms. Very good quality for small prices, but even more important, we were very kindly helped by the owner. Back home we remember your warm personality, read with great pleasure the books and make the (round) jigsaws.         Interesting range of mainly second-hand but also some new books, located in a wonderful old building called the Assembly Rooms, just a few yards further down from Waterstone's on King Street (underneath where Ludus is, if that helps), with quite a variety of other traders in there too. Really good value, and the books are in pretty good nick. There's even a caf at the back, so like me you can stop for tea (or coffee, or cake, etc...) while you make your mind up. Well worth popping into when you're in Lancaster, especially given the price of new books (!).
