First Class Learning at Lancaster has helped greatly both my children aged 8 and 10. My youngest hated any academic class always preferring art. It was when he told me that others were cleverer than him that I decided to look at tutoring, he had no confidence at all. It was as if he had decided he couldn't do it and wasn't trying anymore. I am so pleased that we joined FCL classes. In 6 weeks my sons mathematics skills just rocketed. We stuck to the schedule doing one page of sums a day for homework. His improvement was so noticeable his school teacher messaged me to ask what I had been doing with him. He was suddenly passing the weekly mental arithmetic tests at school with full marks and moved up a level every week. It was truly phenomenal. Maths is now his favourite subject!! I cannot recommend Ms Samim's FCL class enough for what she has done for him. My eldest has benefited too, she is doing maths English and 11+. She was already academically motivated and had been asking for extra work and this has been great as I hadn't a clue what to teach nor the new methods they use these days. Ms Samim teaches them methods for all topics in maths and English and what to look out for in 11+ tests should they choose to do the exam. We have continued with FCL through lockdown, classes were promptly moved onto Zoom and their progress continues. FCL has been one of the best things I think I have done for my children, particularly the youngest. For him the difference is life changing. He has confidence, he feels as clever as everyone else now and that means he is trying again, he isn't doubting his ability anymore.
