The Alex Willis Funeral Home

Unfortunately my bro n his wife were "in charge" of everything to do with my mum's passing on 27th August this year, with regards funeral directors etc. I contacted Alex Willis to call for a viewing and they were certainly not particularly friendly. 5 of us turned up to view my mum, upon arrival told to "wait here" by some man sat in the office. Then a minute or so later told to "follow me" to which he then opened a door which led us into mum. He didn't say anything like "so sorry for your loss" so we were all a little astonished as there didn't seem to be any sympathy which surely is a prerequisite of this business? The room where mum was laid had the most putrid smell and at first we had to walk back out as it really hit you in the face. I lit a fragranced candle which was in her room to try and mask the smell, I'm sure it probably should have been lit beforehand, It all felt very unprofessional my poor mum looked awful, very slap dash (make up) and her eyes and mouth were slightly open, just not a good enough job I'm afraid, I have seen many deceased people in funeral homes whom looked so peaceful and out of pain. I was totally distraught along with the other 4 members of my family. We took pictures as we couldn't believe how dreadful she looked. I will never recommend this company.

What a super, caring firm. As a family we couldn't have asked for better service. From the start we dealt with Jenny who was calm and professional but with the right amount of comfort. Everything we asked for was carried out and took the pressure of us at the worst time of our lives. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Jon and the team are amazing, I was so impressed with the whole service given, they literally arranged everything, the only thing I had to do was choose flowers and give numbers for the buffet. I would recommend Alex Willis to anyone, they are especially kind, and thoughtful at a time when you don't even know what day it is.
