Quite often you go in and you're waiting ages because they don't have anyone on the till and it takes time until a staff member finishes what they're doing on the shop floor, sees that there are customers waiting and comes to the other end of the shop to serve people. It didn't used to be like this. I'm guessing that there's been instructions from above to cut costs by doing it this way and never having anyone standing around for too long. Not the staff's fault - they always seem nice, but it can be fairly irritating sometimes. Prices have gone up quite a lot recently too.
