What a beautiful holiday home. We have just spent the most special time at Little Nut Cottage. It is in the perfect location in what can only be described as magical surroundings. The house is very well equipped, the garden and hot tub are out of this world and I could have spent the entire weekend in the bath! A wonderful home away from home with the most thoughtful touches.

What can I say!! We have been going to the Lakes for the last 40 years and I can honestly report we have never stayed somewhere with more attention to detail than this delightful cottage. The exquisite finish to every room is a sight to behold and only matched by the natural beauty of the area. We were extremely lucky with the weather, which allowed us to also enjoy the stunning garden attached to the property! I could go on about Little Nut cottage but I won't spoil it for you, if you are looking for Luxury in one of the most beautiful locations in the UK, look no further. Highly recommend!

We were lucky enough to enjoy this cottage during a week of spectacular weather in the lakes. The cottage is beautiful and had everything we needed to make our time there comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage is tucked away so it's nice and quiet. It's a stone's throw away from the Britannia Inn which serves excellent food when you're not in the mood to make it yourself. Elterwater itself is a lovely little village and a great place from which to explore the wider area. It's quieter than other places we've stayed in the Lakes which was a real plus. Our children loved playing in the river and building dams. There's a great walk (flat and easy) that follows the river for about 30 minutes through to a great restaurant and shop called Chesters. Worth a visit. There are loads of walking options to suit everyone. Grasmere is 20 minutes away with lots of shops, restaurants and a very good playground and then Ambleside and Bowness with access to Lake Windermere around 30 minutes away depending on traffic. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning.

Little Nut Cottage is a beautiful little holiday hideaway in one of the most picturesque parts of the UK. It has recently been renovated and decorated to an extremely high end and tasteful standard. The bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen and living areas are all exquisitely done, well equipped, with some lovely little touches, modern appliances with all a family or a group would need on a self-catering holiday. The house also comes with a good TV and decent broadband at a reasonable speed for the countryside. The garden area - complete with a hot tub - looks like a centrepiece from the Chelsea flower show! The position of the cottage is also superb. Located just behind the Britannia Inn - one of the nicest pubs in the area - the road from the cottage leads down to lovely river walks and is within striking distance of Grasmere, Ambleside and the Langdale Valley. And despite it being right next to a popular crossroads and at the start//finish of many popular walks, the house feels secluded and tucked away. Parking is just outside the property. Communication with the owner was very good, they responded to our queries quickly and managed the booking efficiently. Check-in and out was also very easy and quick. And as you would expect with a property at this level, the cottage was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Little Nut is at the higher end of the price scale for a holiday cottage in the Lakes, but in my opinion, it is still extremely good value given its position and the standard of the accommodation. We plan to book another stay here and would urge anyone looking at this property to do the same!
