Rooms: Quirky and charming. Nearby activities: The whole of the English Lake District. Walkability: Easy and difficult paths. Whatever takes your fancy. Food & drinks: Wainwright Arms is close nearby. Noteworthy details: In the beautiful Langdale valley. Mountains all around and a lovely river.

Stayed at Farra Grain Nice cottage with nice views. We noticed a damp stain on ceiling when we arrived we informed wheelwright who advised us not to use shower in the twin room. A few days later a leak appeared in a diff place thought to be from shower in main room. They thought it was sealant but we didnt want the inconvenience of work being done whilst staying there. Also says in file on property put all recycling in normal rubbish and will be sorted at depot however a cottage a few doors down had a blue council bag with recycling written on it so Im not sure the recycling is separated from your bag of mixed rubbish. So we took recycling home to make sure it is recycled. Farra Grain is advertised as dog friendly but has no enclosed garden and quite a few cars go past so you cant let your dog out the front of house and back of house is a shared space so cant really let dog out there either so I used to take dog out on a lead down the lane to relieve himself and its very dark at night so you need a torch.
