Stopped off for a Sunday roast after a wet fell run. It is hard to go wrong with a roast but this one was done really right! Good quality of food, friendly staff and nicely cooked with added extras like extra gravy as standard. Quite pricey but it is what you expect from the area. Be careful on your timings as they stop service for a period during the afternoon.

I recently went to the Travellers Rest and ordered a burger, and it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. The burger was full of gristle, which made it almost impossible to eat. I tried to take a few bites, but it was so tough that I ended up giving up after a few attempts. Not only was the burger terrible, but it also made me feel sick. I don't know what kind of meat they use, but something was definitely not right. I felt ill for several hours after eating there. Aside from the food, the service was also pretty poor. Our waiter seemed disinterested and didn't even bother to ask if everything was okay with our meal. The atmosphere was also lacking, as the restaurant was pretty dark and dingy, which didn't help to improve my experience. Overall, I would not recommend the Travellers Rest to anyone. The food was terrible, the service was poor, and it was an overall unpleasant experience. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to eat.
