        Good location for exploring the South Lakes. It is walkable into Windermere and Bowness, but it is quite a long walk. If you want to explore the hills around Troutbeck, it's a great location. There is a nice pub (The Haybarn) on site with decent food and beer but it is also within walking distance of The Queen's Head and The Mortal Man, which both do good food and beer.
