Before the owner bad mouths people she has never met, because she did not even come to meet us on arrival, then I say to get the facts right. Your cabins were filthy and smelly and they do look nothing like the photos. Im happy to publish them on social media. Secondly, you have these bad reviews before, I have read all about them. You do this to lots of people. Dont answer the phone and dont refund people. You are not a nice person, doing false advertising and out right lying to people.

Lots of positives and not many negatives. The hosts were very informative and contacted me prior to my stay with details. Where to get the key, logs for fire, code for the toilet and shower block which is spotless and also the parking permit which you need to pay for during your stay. Peaceful , relaxing with wonderful views and surroundings. Perfect for those who want to disconnect and get back to basics. Comfortable, warm and clean. Perfect spot for exploring surrounding area. The lights are solar powered and worked fine the whole time despite the weather not being great for two days. you are supplied with lots of tea lights for the cute circle chandelier and lanterns which I loved. Turn off social media, light the candles, put on some music and pour a glass of wine. Bliss Was just the get away I needed. Would return again . Can be hard to find as no signage at entrance, but got there In the end. Small leak in the flue of the log burner after some heavy rain one day, but nothing major, fire still lite ok and stayed on fine. Gets a 10/10 from me

The campsite and surroundings were beautiful. The bathroom/shower facilities were really clean and the power sockets in there were really handy for example, if you needed to give your phone a quick charge while you were in the shower. That being said, I cant say that our stay was completely enjoyable due to the following; on arrival (around 1830), I was unable to locate the code to the key safe, I booked this back in July so correspondence about such matters was a while ago and Id had a sleep since then. When I rang the host to ask if he could inform me what the code is, he was nothing but hostile and condescending, constantly reminding me that I should have this in an email and that he was away in Romania on a horse expedition and not to ring him again. Eventually he parted with the information and I was able to enter the yurt, which was clean and pleasant. I think in future, to avoid this, the host could perhaps send a useful welcome pack 1 or 2 days before arrival which includes codes required and other helpful information. We paid an extra 20 per car for parking passes which were not in the yurt, when I contacted the host to ask where these were, he informed me that he hadnt had chance send over the passes as he was away. It seemed quite hypocritical considering that he spoke to me in such a rude way for not having the key code to hand, yet I booked this stay in July, he knew we were arriving on Thursday and he knew he was going away, but had made no preparations for this. In the end, we had to make our own parking passes by writing the information on a bit of loo roll and displaying this in our cars, told to do so, by the host. When booking the yurt via air bnb, we applied the hot tub filter and this place came up and listed having a private hot tub. The listing on air bnb was very misleading suggesting that the hot tub was next to the yurt. So with this in this in mind, we went ahead and booked it, even took the option of paying an extra 15 per day for unlimited wood with the thought of having to power the wood fired hot tub in mind. On arrival, it would appear that there was not a private hot tub available to us. When I contacted the host to enquire about this, he said that because he is away, we would be unable to book to use the hot tub that they did have available and suggested using a spa 15mins drive away and pay for the privilege of doing so! We had already paid 190 a night to stay here, so we didnt take him up on the offer. We were incredibly disappointed with this as the hot tub was specifically why we booked the yurt! On day 2, we ran out of gas for the hob, I contacted the host via air bnb and a lady called Beth responded. Beth could not have been more helpful, she attempted to change the cylinder but couldnt, so provided us with a camping stove in the mean time. In the end, 3 lovely ladies sorted the gas out for us and they went above and beyond to make sure we were sorted. I cant help but feel that if it was left to Ben (the host I was initially liaising with) wed be left without a paddle! Overall, I feel like we overpaid for what we actually got. The setting was lovely, but Lake District is beautiful and there are a lot of campsites in the area that are half the price and offer so much more than this place. I wouldnt return!

The location is lovely! We had such a fabulous time. The cabin was clean on arrival. Had the review been just on the cabin and location I would give it 5 stars. However, unfortunately there was an issue with drinking water on site so you had to go to the tea room for water refills or use a water cooler which would have been good to know before we arrived. This is a small point but would have been good to know. Also the two ring hob only seemed to have one hob working. The thing that really let the place down was the booking system. Booking was a headache - they lost our booking and didn't have a history of payments. Forgivable the first time but I had to prove payment and find booking details multiple times. After the initial log in to the booking portal I could no longer get access which I informed them of but we carried on without it. I then having settled the bill before arrival was emailed to say I hadn't paid for a parking permit (I had and we had had several emails about it prior) so they couldn't send me one. I corrected this but still didn't receive one on so had to chase this up early on Monday before we made the journey up. Not fun for the owner I called and woke up or me. On returning I have received yet another email saying I have not settled the bill despite all money's being paid. I also received no checking in information so I didn't have a code for the door to the cabin or the toilets so had to call to get these also not ideal when you've been in the car for 4.5 hours and you really need a wee. If the booking system worked and you didn't need to spend so much time providing proof of booking and payment repeatedly then it would be a fabulous place to have a holiday.
