        Fabulous location near Ambleside and unbeatable for the price but . . . It really does need an upgrade to keep it relevant! Maybe that's part of it's charm and enduring popularity! Storage heaters are hit and miss, but worst of all, the hot water supply is terrible. You can use it all washing-up at breakfast and that's it for the day! No accessibility as a tenant to alter settings. On the plus side, plenty of kindling and fuel for the fire! In these days of ludicrous climate alarmism, you forget just how fabulously warm a coal fire can be! Walkability: Plenty of wonderful Lakeland walks on your doorstep but it is a fairly strenuous 15 minute walk uphill from village. And the pub!
