(Translated by Google) A small village in the English countryside, with well-preserved old houses. Some footage from the Harry Potter movies was filmed here. In one of these Sign of the Angel, the restaurant on the ground floor, the bedrooms upstairs. You eat in the room with the large fireplace, or in the beautiful outdoor garden open only in summer. We had scotch egg, onion soup, steak burger and lamb. All excellent. Unfortunately we didnt have a particularly good experience in their pub. Service was okay, waitresses were friendly and helpful, took our orders fairly quickly and we got our drinks within a couple minutes too. The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere and great decoration. Despite the place being fairly quiet, it took around 40 minutes to get our food which was rather underwhelming. We had two burgers (chicken, steak and chorizo) and two pasta dishes (tagliatelle). The burgers were decent sizes although the kitchen mixed up the fillings, so the chicken burger got the onion chutney instead of pommegranate seeds, and the steak&chorizo burger had pommegranate seeds instead of the churney Chips were supposed to be rosemary chips, instead we got a few pieces on undercooked and blant chips with no rosemary in sight (or in flavour). The pasta dishes were okay, although not very flavourful. We did not stay for dessert. We flagged these issues up to the servers and got a little portion if pommegranate seeds and chutney so we can replace the condiments, but would have appreciated a better compensation given the fairly high prices and supposed good reputation. Unlikely to return here.
