Tucked away near Knowle village you wouldn't really know it was there! Quite sad. Most graves have just numbers and no names.

Knowle Hospital Cemetery buried over 5000 mental patients from the Ravenwood mental asylum based just across the road from the burial ground. Most patients were buried together as they had no family left so you see stones with lists of names upon them. There are many horror stories from the past surrounding the hospital and the graveyard and there is even a film about it. The hospital is now a high security NHS mental asylum so visiting it is a no go. Me and my urban exploring friend visited the graveyard a few weeks ago and it was such an eerie feel. We witnessed a man sat on a stairs that's located in the graveyard leading from the gated entrance to the lower level and he had a spade! Don't worry it wasnt a ghost because he was wearing modern clothes but he was gone when we entered which was horrible... We then bumped into a local builder as there are works going on around the outskirts of the whole site which means its loud and takes away from the peaceful side of the explore. He informed us that there's loads of worshipping and ghost hunters that walk around it at night so if your interested in catching mysterious happenings or if your a fellow ghost hunter then it might be worth a visit for you. He also informed us that hes also bumped into patients in the graveyard when they have somehow walked out if the hospital and had to contact the hospital to tell them where they are..weird that they're going straight to the graveyard right? And not such a HIGH SECURITY hospital after all? However I have given this place 3 stars because of the amount of bottles and rubbish left from youths and that it was loud and not much to see anymore due to nature having taken its course. If your travelling a fair distance for a day visit then its really not worth it. If your a ghost hunter...maybe then, but only at night.
