The OAD clinic is a breath of fresh air in the way these places used to be run. The staff are consumate proffesionals with the right level of care and support, giving patients the ability to really tackle their own demons without undue coddling and supporting them when needed and allowing them to heal at their own pace. There is no over prescribing which I experienced at other clinics and the staff are really helpful and concerned in a non patronising way. I would recommend the OAD as the best of its kind anywhere for serious proffesionals with a problem that needs medical intervention. Ken Muir

What did I find with Dr. D'Angone? The first thing was the ease of being honest, of being able to be clear without feeling judged and feeling at same time listening. Something that I never found in the GP. The reality in this country is that a person with mental care issues, being treated by the GP, is easily an invitation to suicide. Because by regulation, for the GP to refer you to a psychiatrist, they have to wait until you feel like committing suicide to refer you. I will always say: insist and force to get a referral to a psychiatrist, before to feel like that. Look for help from a specialist. Is a have to. In my case I had a deep concern about what I was feeling, many things I didnt understand and when I had my first appointment it was like a release to be able to talk free. It is important to clarify that I sought psychiatric help for anxiety, depression and insomnia problems. I wanted to make sure that I was receiving the best treatment for myself, to see the possibilities of reducing the amount of medicine I was taking and to understand more about my condition, but from the hand of a psychiatris here in Uk. I found a serious, professional doctor, but at the same time warm, he has always paid attention to me when we talk, and it calmed me down a lot to feel his calm when he listened to me, in that first appointment. He easily put me in a treatment and at the beginning we made continuous follow-up, to check how I feel with the treatment, and the doctor depending on this, evaluated the situation and could decide to lower or raise the dose of the treatment. Also he gave me many suggestions and explained what i could feel or expect. I was quickly seeing positive results of improvement, which motivated me to resume many activities that I had stopped doing. It was very satisfying. But also I have to say that is a process and each person is different. Today I have learned that my symptoms can be with me all my life, that the idea is to have it under control, and that I can have crises and that according to that the treatment can vary and also the amounts of milligrams of medicines can go up or down. He also told me that is really important to do Psychotherapy, and with a good one. Right now I have amazing Psychotherapist and yes help a lot, because she is really good in what she does. It is important to keep a record of your medical history, even record the appointments. The doctor handles many patients and of course that he has all your medical history (since you start with him) but gonna helps you if you also have that medical record in your hand at each appointments with him. Soraia, one of her assistants, has been a blessing for me, she has made everything easy for me, she is a agile person, she responds quickly, she is very kind, she manages all prescription and administrative stuff easily and quickly. I must to confess that when she goes on vacation, I really miss her. I consider that Dr. D'Angone has a lot of experience. And Im really grateful with him for all the times that he has been there for me. Thanks doctor It is also important to anticipate, most mental care medications are controlled medications, a great suggestion is not to wait until the last minute to have medical control, because the doctor may be on holidays and you can run out of medications, and the Oad clinic is fast getting solutions but always check everything before to give a prescription. Something very good about Dr. D'Angone is being very professional and polite, he has the ability to speak to you clearly. Dont be afraid to ask him wherever. As Latina, i really like that doctors respond to me in straightforward, clear way and tell me the good and the bad. This has been my experience. I hope I can help you. Caroline Quesada

Unfortunately my friend died 2 years ago, non drug related but was on heroin , he was under dr brewer when he was practicing, this place used to be called stapleford center, I dont believe the negative attention this place had and now as it stands they only offer methadone which is harder to get off than heroin, been clean 7 weeks after being in a nhs hospital, apparently they dont give morphine sulphate anymore, my mate was getting it up till his death just before lockdown. Has the bad publicity of this place that changed its named banned by the government. The only difference to the nhs is a injection monthly. Costly but is this the only treatment different from nhs?
