My son was taken by his mother to Dr. Pat Frankish for a psychological assessment. During the assessment process, the Doctor did not meet with my son or speak to him. Dr. Frankish only spoke to my sons mother and an individual from her practice (who was not a Doctor) only saw my son on one occasion. Despite having equal parental rights the Doctor did not reach out to myself for my consent for the assessment to take place or for information about my son, she did not reach out to my sons school or his GP either. Based on the very limited information that she was left with, the Doctor provided the opinion that my son was severely Autistic, to the confusion of myself and his school, stating that he 'tested positive' for Autism. Her assessment is now on his school record. My son is 10 years old, he attended two nurseries and has attended two schools. Not a single teacher, member of staff or professional has ever raised a concern that he maybe Autistic. I have recently spoken to the NSPCC about the assessment and the National Autistic Society. The NSPCC have stated that as Dr. Frankish did not meet with my son or speak to him during her assessment of him, it is their 'position that he did receive an official diagnosis from Dr. Frankish for Autism'. The National Autistic Society have stated that the assessment undertaken of my son by Dr. Frankish did not follow the guidelines for the assessment of Autism. My sons schools SENCO has stated that the assessment did not meet with DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Autism. Dr. Frankish appears to have formed the view that my son is Autistic, based mainly on his interest in playing a computer game called Roblox (he is a 10 year old boy), and on inaccurate information provided by his mother. Despite informing the Doctor after the assessment that the information she was provided with by my sons mother was false, that my son was experiencing traumatic events at the time of the assessment, that my son was sleep deprived and tired on the single occasion that her assistant met with him, and that the behavioral difficulties around sleep and aggression that he had presented with at the time of the assessment had subsequently disappeared, this has made no difference to her opinion. I find Dr. Pat Frankish to be arrogant and her behavior towards my son to be negligent. In providing the assessment she had a duty of care towards my son, which she did not fulfill. It is telling that although reportedly having been established since 2008 Dr. Pat Frankish's practice has only received 6 google reviews, 5 of which, mine included, are terrible.

If l could give zero stars l most definitely would. Pat Frankish has sooo many years of experience apparently, very sad that she hasn't learnt the art of watching and listening. This person tried to report me to Children Services for putting my child at risk of emotional harm as l wouldn't accept that my child hadn't got ASD or ADHD- it was indeed all attachment trauma- he's post care. It was immediately overturned as it was the very team l worked with to adopt my two children Child has a diagnosis of a Rare Chromo syndrome, ASD and ADHD - completed by NHS Doctors! Avoid at all costs.

The service was an absolute joke. The appointment was so short and it felt rushed too. The report was not worth the paper it was written on with more information about the clinic than about my childs needs. Very little in the way of information and then a sarcastic, rude and outright unprofessional response that says completely the opposite of multiple other healthcare professionals findings, funnily enough. Absolutely would not recommend anyone use this backstreet clinic because youll get very little from it!

Unfortunately like many others our experience here was not a good one, after fighting 2 years begging people to listen and see that my daughter was autistic we were finally listened to my a lovely charity and referred to this service, during the initial phone call it was mentioned that my daughter likely wasn't autistic and it could've just been trauma from me being a young mother... the first and last time they saw my daughter in person the lady was quite rude, dismissing the traits I was telling her my daughter had as she wasn't seeing them in the literal 20-30 minute appointment, from what I was told her school wasn't contacted nor was the health visitor who had spent the most time with her and was the first to listen to me, in the end we left this rushed appointment feeling more unheard then we were before, only for a month laster reviving a short report saying what pat had seen 'suggested' my daughter may have autism which meant school, the doctors or the ehcp could use this report due to it being rushed and only suggestive, thankfully my daughter was diagnosed with autism (not trauma from me being a teen mother) by the nhs after amazing help from portage, the hv and school. While I greatly appreciate everything the charity tried to do for us, I cannot in good faith recommend this practice at all.
