A beautiful home from home in the heart of Yorkshire Manor House is in an idyllic spot on the edge of the village with easy parking and excellent views from every aspect. The welcome started at the door with space for coats and boots plus drying facilities to cope with the Yorkshire weather, outstanding facilities for dogs too, I have never seen such attention to detail. The warm traditional kitchen diner has ample space to eat, relax and cook and we enjoyed using the range cooker too, a first for us, much easier than we had imagined. The welcome basket was greatly appreciated and contained local quality produce too. With two lounges in addition to the huge kitchen diner everyone had room to spread out and find their own space, the log burners kept us toasty and there was access to two outdoor dining areas both with views of the wonderful Yorkshire countryside. The bedrooms, as per the rest of the house, were spotless, quirky but practically furnished and the bathrooms modern and superbly appointed, the quality of the beds and mattresses provided an excellent sleeping environment. We were able to walk to Malham Cove easily from the cottage, the path was excellent and we saw many birds including a woodpecker but didnt manage to spot the otters unfortunately. We ordered food from the local pub in the evening which was wonderfully prepared, and excellent value. We also took advantage of the Jacuzzi despite the rain, an excellent way to relax after our exhilarating walk. We left felling wonderfully refreshed and, for the first time in a long while, felt we had got away from it all. An excellent choice for a Yorkshire break, definitely good value.
