If I could zero stars this I would. Friends birthday treat to herself, mine a rare 'girly' treat, neither of us are made of money so this really was a treat. She wanted acrylic glittertips, I wanted a simple French manicure on my real nails. There was noone in there at the time so we thought 'ah, theres no rush for them, they'll do a good job of what we want'. But oh, how wrong we was. She was told 'no, sorry, that went out of fashion ten years ago, we don't do that anymore', despite it being on the price list on the wall. So she said she would just have the acrylics stuck on then, as she couldn't find the colour polish wanted anyway. They didn't bother to smooth her acrylics out, they were super scratchy, lethal claws... And they weren't even all the same length!!! There was some mass confusion regarding my French manicure, for some reason? I wanted a 'manicure and massage', as priced on the wall, with little white french tips. I showed a picture to illustrate my point. Everyone knows what a French manicure is right? Basic, helps with nail health, looks pretty? Well, I got no nail soak/care/pushed back cuticles/massage, nothing, and instead a guy who filed my nails back and forth (nails need them filing in one direction to keep them strong, no?) used the hard acrylic sander on the surface of my thumb nail before disappearing, and some other woman swooped in to soft sand them. She then start unevenly painting my nails with some goopy shellac before even taking the remnants of an old red polish off. Oh, maybe she'll paint over it? I questioned it but I was talked over and sidelined by staff. I'm not a girly girl, last had my nails done a good 15 years ago, so I expect to be able to defer to the 'experts'. But they were not knowledgeable, not helpful and kinda rude, to be honest. A lovely girl who came in after us and seemed to be a regular, was getting her nails done and explained some stuff to me, but I don't think she could see the disaster unfolding on my hands! I left with lumpy luminous pinky nails that didn't seem match the peachy nude colour of the plastic nail pallete thing, that 'ended' a good 3mm away from the cuticle, didn't cover the old red polish and were unevenly painted and shaped. I painted a nude colour over them the second I got home, just to tone down the horrid pink and match the base of my nail to the rest of it. I will probably take it all off by the end of the week because it still just looks so, so bad, and they're just embarrassing. If I didn't have transport to catch (and perhaps weren't so introverted), I'd have stayed and made them redo it. I'm never going back, and if you've not been before, I'd urge you not too either. Absolute waste of money, I'm completely inept at doing nails and I could've easily done a better job. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
