I needed the certificate to register an ex MOD vehicle for public road use. After paying for the certificate I received conformation that Piaggio in Italy had processed the certificate and that it was either on its way in the post or via email. Neither turned up, to their credit, I dont believe this was their fault but more of Piaggio in Italy. What I fond inherently annoying though was how Piaggio Commercial/The Big Coffee dealt with it there after. They dragged their feet the whole time and nothing was ever done or chased up unless I was the one chasing them up.
The process took so long that my insurance company, who will only insure an unregistered vehicle for 2 months before it has to be road registered, cancelled the policy at a cost of 140. Of course the van was then sat there uninsured. The intention was also to use the van as a daily driver but due to everyones incompetence I had to spend the last several months borrowing vehicles. Even though I explained this pretty politely to the customer service agent Amy, I never received a proper apology, it was always a sorry but.were offloading all responsibility to someone else and not actually admitting to any fault which they will probably do again in reply to this, though I do have plenty of emails to prove otherwise and how long they left me waiting between correspondence. I asked the manager to call me on a number of occasions which he never did bar one instance.
When I emailed asking for a refund I didnt get a reply, so I phoned them up and the agent said oh Im just sat in front of your email now. I asked for the manager to call me, got to the end of the week and heard nothing. I phoned again at the start of a new week, again asking for a refund and to speak to the manager and was again ignored. I was told by Amy that she couldnt give me a refund as she wasnt authorized to do so, yet 3 weeks later after I initially requested it she was able to send me a refund via worldpay, which failed.Eventually after almost 4 weeks, I got the money back but it cost me way more in time, stress and cancellation fees. What really proved a lack of care though is that having waited almost 9 months by that point for this certificate, that the manager couldnt be bothered to spend just a few minutes doing a bank transfer to return my money to me let alone have the decency to call me back. Totally inexcusable, he was fine to clock off at half 4 every day though.
I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone, it was the worst customer service Ive ever experienced and having spoken to my local garage that were trying to source a part from them and the owners club, they wouldnt either, Ill never buy a Piaggio again.
