About 25 years ago I attended a week's group psychotherapy retreat in Italy, led by Peter Fleming. In the final session he pushed me hard about my childhood, and when I said twice (this interaction was recorded in itsentirety) that I felt unsafe, he said 'Sometimes it feels like that when we need to push through. Keep going'. Within 12 hours i was in a psychosis and it's taken me 25 years to repair the damage and to understand what Iwas dealing with thatwas entirelybeyond his skill or comprehension. The BACP accepted my complaint against him but he did not renew his membership so my tribunal case could not go ahead. I dearly hope he's improved his practice since then and has become properly trauma informed.

I first completed the Therapeutic skills for foster Carer training in 2012 and it was a change in my thought processes and changed my practice dramatically. I have continued to do their courses and annual intensive retreats in Italy. Thank you to the Pellin Team.
