West Malling Group Practice has an excellent system wherein by making it as hard as possible to get an appointment, they can boost the local economy by forcing as many people as possible to go private rather than accessing the NHS service they have paid for. I should say, though, that the ladies on reception are lovely and were very understanding of my frustrations at the inadequate booking system.

Walked into GP Surgery to ask for non-urgent appointment to check a skin mole which has changed and has bled. This is not an emergency but there is a genuine concern which needs addressing. I was told 'we don't book future appointments, please phone 8:15 Monday' . At exactly 08:15, I phoned the Surgery as instructed only to be cut off as the lines are already full. The pre-recorded message tells you to phone back later. This is not the way to run a GP Surgery. No wonder people are going to A&E.

I had a blood test, quick no problem getting in. The problem was when I was asked to telephone on to get my results. The receptionist began reeling off jargon, when I explained I could not understand, she said "neither do I". I asked if it could be explained what the numbers meant she said no!. Simplely said one was above levels but no idea what it meant. Said I should rebook in 3 months. What was the POINT! in asking for my results. Perhaps the practice should put a brief note to help reception explain

Cannot fault this surgery. Have been amazing in dealing with the issues etc for my mothers end of life care. Extremely helpful and understanding staff, who went above and beyond.
