Rooms: Very clever and interesting design and details plus really comfortable beds and lovely pristine sheets Safety: It felt like a safe quiet oasis from the madness of London streets Walkability: Very close to Kings Cross St Pancreas with lots of restaurants, great for Scottish train travellers making connections Food & drinks: We only had breakfast but it was one of the best nice fresh generous breakfasts I can imagineand lovely friendly helpful staff Noteworthy details: Fascinatingly detailed design features and extremely helpful friendly staff. A very impressive experience that we will be delighted to repeatthank you all

The room they gave us had some electrical issues..BUT the willingness to fix the issues and the to relocate us to a better room shows how good this hotel is. Things can go wrong in any hotel but it's the care taken to fix issues and attention to this is how you really measure a hotel. Well done to THE GYLE. And the location and quality of rooms is fantastic. Thank you

Rooms: Gorgeous decor, niche use of airline trolleys. Shame about broken aircon Walkability: A stones throw from St. Pancras / Euston / Kings Cross railway stations. Closest tube less than 2 mins walk. Food & drinks: Breakfast was lovely. No cooked / warm options, but pastries, fruit, juice, and coffee were plentiful and of a high standard.

Sadly, this hotel was rather disappointing, especially for the price we paid. The first thing you need to know (that is not listed on their website) is that there is no elevator and the stairways and hallways to the rooms are quite steep and narrow. We were traveling for a few weeks, so had quite a bit of luggage. We asked if they could have it sent up (mind you, we were four flights up) and I gave up after 45 minutes of waiting and took care of it myself. Its ok to not have a lift, but you need to clear about that up front and offer real solutions to mitigate the inconvenience. And then there were the other problems. There was no phone in the room, so no way to call down to the front desk without using your own phone and incurring international phone charges. None of our power outlets worked, despite thorough troubleshooting, so we couldnt charge our phones, or put the water on. The walls were paper thin. The TV didnt work. The thermostat didnt work. The shower and toilet were unimaginably small. Far too many things were inoperable for a $350/nt hotel. The positives? Despite the issues, the staff were kind and tried to help. And the location cant be beat. You are within striking distance from kings cross. And then theres the decor. Personally, I found it to be way over the top and bordering on tacky. I felt like it played for the photos, but in real life, it was a bit much considering how small the whole space is. But thats just my personal taste. Personally, Id spend my money on a brand hotel that is a known quantity after experiencing this disappointment. The hotel might suit a weekend traveling couple with little luggage, but this ended up being a terrible choice for international guests.
