Avoid, like the plague. If I could give this zero or minus stars I would. Do not be fooled by the location. Stayed in this hotel for 2 days with a friend, the conditions are actually scarcely believable. I wondered had I wandered onto the set of a particularly sadistic episode of "Game for a Laugh". The place is filthy. The overpowering stench that runs down the corridor is only eclipsed by the dust and mould. The rodent bait boxes haphazardly scattered at various, almost random, locations didn't exactly inspire confidence either. There is no security at the hotel. After an early morning walk, I was in the lift back to the room only to be joined by a very dishevelled and menacing gentleman who'd wandered in off the street and was vaping. Further to their colourful attitude towards security, they attach your room key to a long, metal holder and ask you to leave the key at reception when you head out. I found this frankly suspicious. I can also attest to previous reviews that the fire alarm going off at ungodly hours is indeed a County Hotel Party piece. All of this is amplified by the ambivalent attitude of the (about as helpful as a chocolate teapot) staff who's level of pride in the cleanliness of their workplace and respect for the customer seems to take inspiration from Vicky Pollard "am I bovvered". All joking aside, what this hotel is doing is bordering on criminal negligence as regards the lack of cleaninliness.

I dont know where to start. I think this was the worst place I have ever stayed, and I did not expect much for a budget hotel. There was a mouse in my room, and of the shared toilets for the hotel floor, only one was working, and there was next to no toilet paper. They were in horrible dirty condition. The single pane windows meant that you can hear all the traffic of the main road, all night. I asked to be moved because unfortunately my immediate neighbour was unwell, and so had a routine of opening his door, turning the light on, slamming the door, standing outside the door, jangling the keysno lie, every 25 mins until 5am. I politely asked to move rooms due to my mouse guest and for the nightly disturbance and was told that no rooms were available, which is of course not the fault of the staff, but it did mean I was effectively stuck in the room for the rest of my grim stay here. The room smelled awful. There was a very strange musty smell. On a good note, the staff were pleasant. I dont usually leave reviews, but in this instance I did feel it was warranted. This is a great place to stay if you had absolutely nowhere else to go. Stay was back in May 2022.
