We had a lovely 3 night stay at Sherwood Pines Camping over the Easter weekend. We booked an electric pitch for our tent which was a good size and well spaced from neighbouring tents. The pitch we had also allowed us to pitch our tent facing into a forest of trees which was fab first thing in the morning and at sunset. Shower block - recently built and still very well maintained. Plenty of lockable shower cubicles available with small seating area inside, plus several vanity cubicles with sinks, soap and space to hang bags etc. We found the toilet and shower blocks clean and tidy every time we visited. Pot wash area - plenty of space and ample sinks. Dog wash - we didnt use this in the end but its a great idea, warm enclosed shower area perfect to clean those muddy paws after a long walk in the forest. The site itself is super dog friendly - it was the first time camping with our 10mth old Springer and she loved it. All owners kept dogs on leads around the site as requested and there was no disturbance from noisy dogs at all - probably due to all the fresh air and long walks! The campsite is situated in the middle of the forest so regardless of where you pitch you are only ever a couple of minutes walk from the main Forestry Area, which is perfect for walks, and loads of open grass spaces for ball games and picnics. Plenty of timber play areas for the little people too, our 6yr old absolutely loved exploring the forest and discovering a new play area round every corner. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay, but had it been a wet weekend, the gravel road that winds around the site would have been a godsend when moving around the site and limited the amount of traipsing across muddy grass to get to the main shower building. The main reception building only 5min walk away and the staff there we found friendly and helpful-happy to suggest local places to visit and places to eat or get takeaway from. All in all a really lovely and well maintained site, which we would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again!
