Silk - Designer Bridal Gowns

Beautiful shop with lots of lovely dresses. Owned by Denise & her daughter who are both very friendly & knowledgeable, made us all feel very comfortable.

Beautiful store in the country side however not a great overall experience. Lovely warm welcome and professional start to the appointment . The store states their pricing is quite wide with most gowns priced between 1500-2000. This did not feel accurate as most gowns I tried or picked out when looking were out of this price range. I am a size 12 and most gowns i could not try either due to being too small or tried and couldnt get past my hips. One dress I tried I liked the fit and style, I was advised this was a sample sale dress but was still priced at 2K. Whilst trying the dresses the ladies made comments to each other such as oh we have another bride arriving shortly dont put that one out its fair game if she sees it. At the time I thought nothing of these comments but once I left I realised it was part of the push to sell the dress. The one dress I liked I stood in for a little while but was told this sale ends tomorrow. When I booked the appointment I wasnt aware there was a sale on. The lady proceeded to say if the dress is not sold by tomorrow the dress would be returned to the designer. They also told me they had sold over 50 dresses that week. I said I didnt want to make and impulsive decision and was told that I could not return for this dress . The sale ended the following day and they have no more appointments. This did not feel right and I said ok I will leave it. As I had one last look around the store two dresses I liked I was told were one of kinds and only ones in the world. However later that evening from scrolling instagram I found numerous stores across the uk stocking these dresses. I then returned to Silks instagram and scrolled down and found the dress that I tried that was supposedly being returned to the designer had been on sale for over a year. I think the ladies grasped this was only my second bridal appointment so wasnt yet familiar with the way stores work. This indirect pushy sales tactic is very offputting. Its such a shame this was the experience as the store has been designed beautifully.

I could not rate Silk Bridal any better if I tried! I went to the appointment feeling very nervous and almost dreading this part of my wedding planning, but Denise and Becky made me feel comfortable and welcome from the moment I arrived! I booked my appointment very last minute but they managed to squeeze me in. They were so patient with me trying on all different styles of dresses, and gave me honest advice. I honestly cant recommend Silk enough!! Thanks again ladies

The most beautiful experience! This was my 1st ever bridal shopping trip & I chose Silk to be my 1st shop I visited after seeing their page on social media, myself & my mum made a appointment & Denise was so lovely over the phone. When we went to the appointment Denise couldnt of made me feel more special! She led myself & my mum to a cosy area of the shop 1st where we chatted & had a coffee then the fun began with trying on lots of beautiful gowns. I had all the confidence with Denise that she new what would suit me, we picked out around 8 gowns & 1 of those gowns was my dream dress which I said Yes to the dress too :) Denise made me feel so beautiful, relaxed & confident & not only did I have the most special morning but my mum did too. We later met Becky who was equally just as lovely, polite & welcoming. I cant wait for lots more visits here, the new shop is beautifully decorated & so bright & modern. A magical memory I will cherish.
