Lower Bache House

By S Cole. I stayed here with my wife in August 2011. It had an excellent review in Sawdays guide. Lovely location. Food OK. Breakfast small but adequate. Room was filthy, not vacuumed, with cobwebs and spiders of which I had to kill over twenty before going to bed. Wrote subsequent letter to Mr Wiles, the owner, to register my disappointment. He sent back a disconcertingly aggressive reply, completely rubbishing all of my criticism and including a personal attack on my wife. I am writing this review in support of the more recent reviews above, which he has also sought to rubbish, I see. Suggest you go elsewhere, or be prepared to keep any complaints to yourself!

(Translated by Google) I was a guest of this facility last night. I am very sorry to say that I slept on an armchair, as the room and the bed and bathroom linen smelled of mold. Cobwebs everywhere. The owners, two very elderly people, had difficulty moving around and therefore it is understandable that they could not climb that unsafe staircase that led to our room. Mi spiace molto dover dire che ho dormito su una poltrona, in quanto la stanza e la biancheria del letto e del bagno, puzzavano di muffa. Ragnatele ovunque. I padroni, due persone molto anziane, avevano difficolt a muoversi e quindi comprensibile che non potevano salire quella scala pericolante che portava alla nostra stanza. Ci non toglie il diritto agli ospiti di ricevere un trattamento adeguato.
