I do not usually write reviews of corner shops. Mostly because they're not really somewhere you go expecting amazing service or anything, and you normally spend about 30 seconds in them. However, I felt the need to express how unpleasant an experience it is to come in here. There is a young guy who works here, who is extremely pleasant, and who I could stand there and chat to for ages, did he not have to serve other customers. The old guy however omg. It doesn't matter whether I'm buying a chocolate for like 80p or whether I'm spending upward of 30 on tobacco and/or alcohol, you are made to feel like a nuisance. He doesn't bother to look at you, he doesn't bother to say hello, does not show an ounce of gratitude for your custom. The best you get is a scornful disapproving look, and the worst you get is visible annoyance at having to open the cupboard to get something out for you or get a bottle of spirit down. I am all for supporting local businesses, but not when they are rude, ungrateful people who make you feel like rubbish, despite you being the one that's providing their upkeep. I always say please and thank you, but I reckon you'd get a better response from a brick wall. I don't get it.
