Unfortunately what was a very good practice has gone downhill. It is very difficult to see a doctor, most is done on the phone or sending photos. If this is considered to be sufficient care then we are on a very bad trajectory. We had to doorstep them when my son had RSV as they made it near impossible to be seen, eventually he was hospitalised! At a later time my he had a chest infection and were told he was fine. We ended up in hospital and he had a collapsed lung. It is no surprise that the ED in the hospital is overrun when the primary care is not fit for purpose. I have not named anyone but unfortunately this wasn't isolated to one doctor. The practice needs to look at itself as it is letting people down. Unfortunately looking at the other reviews we aren't the only ones to suffer.

I've been at this practice for over 10 years and have always received really good care. Yes it can take a couple of days to get a routine appointment but that is the case with most practices. They have to cover a large area of patients and I think they do a marvelous job. When our family has needed urgent medical care we have always been seen straight away and appropriate referrals were made. I cannot recommend Dr Laura McCulloch enough as she genuinely cares, is easy to talk and takes time to deal with your problems effectively. Dr Mathi is also very friendly and helpful and goes out of her way to resolve any medical problems you may have.

A big thank you to the reception lady who went out of her way the other day to help me sort out my appointment. My phone line was terrible, my availability limited and the line cut off. I wasnt able to book an appointment or call back due to my busy schedule. I received a lovely voicemail a few hours later that the lady booked me an appointment (time and day that worked for me best). I did not expect this much help and efficiency. I am very grateful and appreciate the teams hard work.

I was so badly neglected by dr Vogel who didnt send me to hospital when I was coughing lots of blood and dr tucker misdiagnosed me over a telephone and didnt care and Dr Finnigan tried to play my lung disease down that was caused probably by them not taking action when I coughed up after having pneumonia or covid pneumonia 8 months prior. Dr Vogel is so rude and mean and shouts down the phone at you when you try to speak and question their actions. I had so many misdiagnoses and had to chase up even basic things so many times its unreal and caused so much more stress as well its been awful. They dont ever listen to you and dr Pritchard when she called me to explain my lung disease diagnosis months later she explained it totally wrong over the phone and the same dr Pritchard even checked my lungs in person and said nothings wrong with your lungs and blamed on something else she knew nothing about but I did have a serious lung disease which she didnt notice, then dr finnigan said I only had a little bit of the of lung disease but when I was finally under the care of the jr hospital lung department they said I obviously very significant amounts of my lung disease do dr finnigan got that wrong. Some receptionists are very friendly but some are rude. Dr leedham also see me but she never lets you talk on the phone when you try and explain. Theyre doctors yes but they dont know how bad lung disease or any other health problems effects you physically and emotionally unless they have the same problem which they dont. I have very stressful permanent symptoms from my lung disease which they dont care about. The new doctor i see recently for an ear infection dr Bethan her name I think is a brilliant and kind doctor so Ill stay with her in future and the receptionist Ive seen recently are very friendly too but I have a permanent lung disease thanks to those doctors who never treated me when it first happened or 8 months after even when I coughed up lots of dark black blood. I want some action taken if im honest but I doubt any those bad doctors I mentioned will reply to me, I may even sue them for medical neglect with a medical lawyer company I know. This lung disease makes me unfit and safe to work again too but they dont listen or help with that either. I do go out for exercise a lot too but it doesnt help at all and actually makes me feel even worse than I did already because the high level of the lung disease I have!

I was asked to come in for a blood test which I booked two weeks in advance. As I was leaving for my appointment, the receptionist called to say "the GP is off sick, we'll call you later to rearrange your appointment". I made arrangements with my work to make this appointment and I was a little surprised there was no one else who could do my blood test. I didn't receive a callback. I wasn't sure if they could see me later that same day or the following week, so I called and spoke to the receptionist. I asked when I could be seen for my blood test. She offered me an appointment in another two weeks time. I said "it's not my fault my appointment was cancelled this morning, can I be seen any sooner?". The receptionist's response "well it's not my fault we don't have any appointments". I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The person I was speaking to appeared to lack compassion and understanding. I decided to reach out to Kathryn Muddle (the practice manager). Who did respond very quickly and was able to offer me an appointment on Monday at 7:40am (this happened on the Friday before). On Sunday I needed to take a test as I wasn't sure if I had COVID. I didn't receive my results in time and didn't want to risk spreading the virus. Monday at 6:00am I wrote an email explaining why I could not attend my appointment (their phone lines don't open until 8am, there was no way for me to call). Then I received the following text message: "We're sorry to see you did not attend your appointment. In future if you are unable to keep your appointment, please make sure to notify the practice in advance so that it may be offered to someone else. Thanks, Sister Steph Wright The Key Medical Practice". I've sent several emails to Kathryn Muddle, I am yet to receive a response. This whole experience has tainted my time here at the Key Medical Practice, I'm not confident they have my best interests at heart. I have a real fear of needles and this experience was only causing me more stress on top of that. Therefore, I decided I would move to a different GP practice. When rebooking my blood test for my new GP practice, there was a note on my account transfered from Key Medical Practice which said "failed to show for appointment". This paints me in a poor light with my new GP and isn't accurate. Regardless, I'm relieved I no longer have to deal with Key Medical Practice again.
