Worst pet shop in Kidderminster ---------------------------------------------------- As we are unable to reply to the business owners response, we are updating with a summary of our experience: Our first time at this shop, we approached the till area. Referred to Donna, we asked if they stocked pet conditioner i.e. our dog is in season, has a cold & could benefit from a supplement. After finding our dog ate kibble and canned food, (didnt get to mention fruit/veg/fish/meat etc.) Donna proceeded to tell us: all pet food sold in supermarkets is crap. People are giving their pets this stuff, this is why dogs, cats, horses nowadays are getting cancer. We are open minded people and in the best interests of our pet questioned what diet she would recommend. She stated: You should be feeding a raw meat diet, you know like when people used to feed dogs meat off their plate? Cats are omnivores and can eat vegetables and stuff. Dogs are carnivores and should eat raw meat. There is nothing to regulate what goes into canned dog food all youve got to do is look at the ingredients to see. **Our 4 year-old Golden Retriever has a sensitive stomach, and since the age of 10 wks has displayed food allergies. Trialling different diets we have consulted with our vets, including the idea of raw meat. A controversial debate, there is no scientific research which identify canned food causing cancer in dogs. Also, pet food IS subject to regulation of additives. Our dog is healthy and reported as trim by our vet** Taken aback by her manner, having preached at length, at a pitch that could be heard by everyone in the shop; a bag of conditioner was gestured towards us. The lecture continued whilst several other customers stood by and watched, waiting in silence and standing well back. Ms Leighs monologue stopped once we paid - we did not buy the pet conditioner. Having walked away with a judgement of shame, we returned a short while later to express our dissatisfaction as paying customers. Ushered into the warehouse by a staff member, we stood back to allow Ms Leigh her space and the roller doors were wide open. The conversation was along these lines: We explained we were not happy with the way she spoke to us or her customer service she is entitled to her opinion but its the way in which she conveyed it. Response what do you meanwhat are you talking about? For f**k sake This continued with Ms Leigh stating that if we were so sensitive about what had been said, we should have taken her to one side and asked for privacy. Note we were at this time, speaking in private. Ms Leigh stated no customers had ever complained before and called her staff members in to confirm this. As we said your employees are not going to disagree with you are they? We were told, if we didnt like it, we should leave, she shouted - f**k off get out of my shop and dont come back. Get out, go on, get out Ms Leighs irrational reaction and apparent meltdown seemed to be in response to something other than customer feedback. Shouting several times youre being recorded on CCTV - Ms Leigh was swearing and stated: I am calling the police, just f**k off and get out of here. Ms Leigh and her staff retreated to the unit, calling through the door, dialling 999 We were not aggressive. Simply stating that we were unhappy with the way she spoke to us and not obliged to accept her behaviour. To avoid escalating the situation we left, which will all be shown on CCTV. Never experienced this in any shop before. What was it about?
