As a member of this club for a few years now id like to say what a delight it is playing with the members there. They're all experienced and give me advice where they feel I need it and encourage me despite not playing as much as them. The other review on here is their opinion and that's okay. But I'd like to point out as it is not exclusively a privately owned tennis club, you can't expect all members to have a key as it belongs to the public too. We have asked many times for floodlights to be put in place but on all occasions have been rejected. The club numbers are dwindling slightly but that's only natural for any club in any sport and will be on the rise in no time! I find the fees for the club reasonable too, I've looked at other clubs memberships and they can be in the hundreds. There are toilets to use across from the courts at the community centre and there is running water. I think other reviewers may just have had one bad experience. But overall I think it's a really lovely club and new faces are always welcome :)

I was a member of this club many years ago and I joined the club again recently to find most members had left which surprised me at first but later I realised why with only 4 remaining and 3 of these are committee members, I found most of the new members to be very friendly but from the very beginning the chairman stuart dingley ( years ago stuarts nickname was Dildano it still is ) and secretary sardine letanyman were extremely aggressive, rude, hostile, dull and boring to such a degree I had no option but to request my payment be refunded and leave the club immediately. I would also like to point out the club has poor surface courts, use worn out balls, no floodlighting, no water supply, no toilet facilities and is locked out to all members except committee which is totally unfair, undemocratic and bordering to a dictatorship. In no way should this be called a club but when the two above are expelled the lengthy stagnation will be eroded by common sense. Overall the club charges far more per year than any other clubs plus a winter fee and offers very little in return with very few playing hours for members but committee members benefit as they are provided with a key to both grounds and club shed so they can play whenever and they do not appreciate or prefer to ignore the fact that they do not have to wait at the gate for someone to arrive with a key, it is such a shame that when a committee is formed individuals with no life thrive on such little power that one or two pull the strings and so often if not always the puppets do as they are told, a club once excellent now completely destroyed.
