Great karate club providing traditional shotokan practise for people all ages. Part of JKAWF under Kawasoe Sensei 8th Dan.

I highly recommend this karate club, both my daughters started karate very young. After stopping at early teen years they then joined SKC Shotokan Kettering and Corby and are enjoying their karate more than ever. The biggest difference they have found is how outward looking the club is and unlike some associations however large the girls are given much more opportunities to go to competitions and events. The highlight for my girls this year was training with world champion Jordan Thomas.

I took my daughter to her first class at SKC when she was 5 hoping she would enjoy it, nearly 6 years later and she attends at least twice a week and still enjoys and wants to do it. Because of her enthusiasm early on, I also got back into Karate having practiced many years ago. The club is friendly and welcoming, has classes every night of the week for very young children as well as classes for adults and has students of all ages and abilities. Various events and competitions are attended through the year but there is no pressure for students to attend if they are not yet confident enough. It has certainly helped with my daughters confidence, and she is fitter than I ever was!!! Julian Glandfield
