Wonderfully welcoming terraced cottage, set in an ideal location-only 5mins walk to Keswick town centre, and the perfect base for all the gorgeous fell, river & mountain walks in the area! The cottage has everything you could need...the lounge has a cosy gas wood burner for the winter months and there's a lovely enclosed patio area with table & chairs for the warmer spring/summer evenings. I've stayed here numerous times - on my own, with a friend and with my mum (and her little dog!) and we've always been impressed with the cleanliness, and the overall feeling of being 'home from home'. The owners, Geoff & Julia, have always been professional, friendly and go out of their way to meet your needs. I fell in love with the Lake District (& Keswick in particular) the first time I visited, and Primrose Cottage is always my first choice of accommodation-it's just perfect!

Primrose cottage is probably best described as a home away from home. The most comfortable beds I've experienced in a rental, well equipped with everything I needed for cooking and although my wife says nobody says about knives, they have sharp knives, so I don't have to take my own. There is some good fishing to be had under the bridge across the road in the park, even if it's raining, trout and salmon depending on time of year. They have their own parking so no problems there. To put it simply, I can't wait to go back.

We are an Australian couple enjoying a week in the Lakes District. Geoff and Julias Primrose Cottage is a home away from home. It is a feel good place because the owners are a family with style, who know what is needed for guests. The house has all mod cons! Close to the babbling Greta River, community bowls and tennis courts, wonderful parks and childrens facilities, Primrose is ideally situated. Short walk to buy an icecream or groceries. Well connected to the beautiful Derwent Water. A 10 mile hike around the lake is well worth it. Stop at Landorf Falls Hotel halfway for lunch. 30 min drive to Penrith Rail Station for access north and south. Thanks Geoff and Julia for sharing Primrose Cottage.
