know Keswick really well as I come here with friends every Autumn for a walking holiday. I decided this year to bring my wife to this lovely Cumbrian Town for a weekend away. When we arrived at the property we found the room to be tiny. It was spotlessly clean and the en-suite well equipped but my wife has claustrophobia and started to panic. The room cost 240 for two nights and I totally understand the rules so I was liable for the full cost however the owners eagerness to get the key back off me and swipe take details of another credit card in case my first one didnt work was distasteful. We were genuinely upset as we were struggling to find any alternative accommodation due to no availability. They have doubled there money as it was apparent that demand far outstripped availability. In summary I believe that these rooms are overpriced and there are far better rooms available at much better value in some of the fabulous guest houses and B&Bs. I will plan better next time and we will try again.
