Lairbeck Hotel

We spent 3 nights at the Lairbeck Hotel recently and enjoyed the location, decor and overall homely feeling the Hotel has. It's an enjoyable walk from the hotel into town, one that allows you to see everything leading up to the centre, including stunning mountain views. It's about 10/15 minute walk into town, so you truly do feel away from the noise when back at the Hotel. Our room was beautiful, clean, tidy and cared for. There is plenty of storage space which would allow longer stays to unpack the suitcase and we found the bed extremely comfy. Parking is outside the Hotel itself, and you will get an email asking for the reg of the car so they have it to make sure only guest are packed which is great for ensuring guest do get the spaces. It's free to park (as a guest) Plenty of tea/coffee in the room, as well as a small TV so you can sit back and relax on the evening should you wish to. Checking in was super easy, due to Covid restrictions/safety, it's slightly different in the sense of self check-in, but we liked that it was so straightforward and easy. I didn't see a lift, so not sure what access is available for wheelchair travellers, and most rooms if not all are up two flights of stairs. We didn't opt for breakfast/dinner so can't comment on that side. This is without a doubt a hotel I'd recommend to family and friends who want a quiet and peaceful area, but also access to all Keswick has to offer. Will be back!

Lovely looking hotel from outside and when you stepped in,with lovely staircase and hallway; the Skiddaw room where we stayed however was very tired and basic. There was no breakfaat available, which really should be possible by now; other hotels and B&Bs in Keswick are offering this. We were not made to feel welcome at all as did not see the hosts throughout the stay. We would definitely not recommend it as good value for money from our experience.
