Highfield Hotel

Stayed for four nights last week in room 4 which overlooks the park with views down Borrowdale, perfect with king size bed plenty of floor space and ample wardrobe and draw space to put everything away. Clean and tidy throughout with attentive and polite staff happy to converse in how our day had gone. Breakfast was spot on with choices to suite all tastes. Add the fact that there is free parking make this hotel an ideal location for a stay. Last year we stayed at the Skiddaw and I now wish we had chosen the Highfield. When we come Keswick again the Highfield will be our first choice.

I had a wonderful stay at the Highfield in Keswick the staff were all friendly and attentive, when I arrived I was told that I had been upgraded to a double room which was lovely and light in the west turret of the building, the views were absolutely incredible looking onto Hope park and Catbells on one side and looking onto Skiddaw at the other. Breakfast was fantastic, on the first morning I had the full Cumbrian. I love that they are supporting local farms and small businesses throughout their breakfast menu and that some of the jams, chutneys and sauces are available for purchase too. In the afternoons we were served coffee/tea and cake in the downstairs lounge, it is a really nice touch as you can talk with other guests or just read a newspaper overlooking some cracking views. They have an honesty bar in the lounge downstairs where you can help yourself to drinks that later get charged to your bill, which is a great option if you don't want to go out in the evenings. Everything said I would highly recommend Highfield to anyone wanting a peaceful stay in Keswick.
