Craglands Guest House

If you want a reasonably priced and comfortable BnB, within walking distance of pubs and restaurants then Craglands is for you. The wi-fi worked better here than any other place we visited in the Lake District. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean. The owner was very kind and friendly and I'm sure that if you didn't want him to enter your room he'd listen. We didn't have any problem with parking but we decided to park up a side street close by to avoid blocking other cars. We'd definitely come again.

Nowhere to park, place looked closed down. Knocked on door no one in. Waited in the cold until a guest returning to the hotel unlocked the door.. Went into to a very dark unwelcoming corridor to find a dresser covered with random instructions. One of which was guests had to leave their car keys,! No one about to tell us which room was ours. Finally found the room at top up loads of stairs, freezing room.no heating on. Decided to try and contact owner, Eldon only to be spoken to very rudely.When I asked could we possibly cancel as he had no other rooms and I complained how cold it was he said that the heating came on at 4.30,this was 5.40. The wholeplace looks shabby, the owner informed me don't bother writing a review as he doesn't read them! He then asked me to wait another 20 mins for him to come over but he was so unpleasant on the phone, we decided to leave. Not a way to run a business.
