If you are travelling without dogs, I would recommend this self catering property for your Keswick adventure. It has a very nice feel and the interior dcor is very pleasant. Be aware, if you are taking items of clothing that need to be hung, dont choose room 1 or 2 as there arent any wardrobes, so you will be living out of a suitcase. If you are a dog owner, I would definitely not recommend this property. The agent I booked through hinted at dog friendly, however I would suggest not so much dog friendly - or indeed dog welcoming as more sort of slightly-semi dog tolerant. Despite an extra charge of 25 per dog by the agent, I was still hit with a 150 cleaning charge from the host due to evidence that our much loved furry friends had been upstairs, on beds and lounge furniture. Despite having read all relevant info on Cumbrian Cottages website posting, paying the deposit and then the balance a short time later, the house rules (what I like to call Terms and Conditions) were sent later still, shortly before our stay. Secreted within them, free roaming paws per strictly forbidden around the property so as to avert the risk to health of future guests from skin cells and deeply embedded hair (allergic reaction etc.) lodged within the confines of the property. Its downstairs only. Bizarrely, when I queried why these restrictions werent brought my attention prior, I was advised the agents website doesnt allow the hosts to post such house rules! Its for this reason the house rules are sent after the deal is sealed! Well, I dont know about anyone else, but I was getting sick of the Law of Contract anyway! If, however, youre happy to keep your dog(s) in the car, the back or front yard or a hermetically sealed container for the duration of your stay, then this could still be the holiday rental for you. However, if not, pooch is restricted to the hallway, a partial section of flooring in the dining room (keep off the rug under the table though!) and the kitchen. The lounge, I feel, is a grey area. It has Moduleo type flooring, however every piece of upholstered furniture in the room is covered in velvet!! If ever a fabric hungers to cling to canine fur and skin cells within its tiny fibres, thats y guy! Only a short walk to Keswick Main Street and the nearby park.

Everything was just perfect. Went with 2 mates whilst doing C2C. Hosts were friendly, caring and professional. The place is immaculate and has a lovely feel to it. Breakfast was exceptional and cooked to perfection. Its a 5 minute walk to the town centre and nearby park. This couple have just got it right ! I cant recommend this place enough.
