The Silverdale is a sweet family run B&B in the centre of Keswick. My partner & I stayed here for 2 nights in the Double Room, and opted to have breakfast included. The room was quite basic in its design/setup, however we had everything we needed for our short break and most importantly it was immaculately clean! We had a small TV, storage for clothes, a dressing table with chair, and a kettle with tea/coffee making facilities. The king size bed was very comfortable to sleep on. The shower had shampoo/body wash in a pump provided (if you want other toiletries or a hair dryer you would need to bring these along with you). The only small downside was that the room could have had more plug sockets, and some of the decor was a little dated, however neither of these things massively bothered us as everything else was great. The hotel has a small restaurant which is used for breakfast & a lounge at the front with a TV. There is free parking available for a few cars, and most of the road had spaces which could be used. There is not a bar, however you are minutes walk from many great pubs so not a problem at all. The owners were both very friendly and welcoming, but not at all in your face (which I think can sometimes be the impression of a guest house); they generally kept to themselves, and we could easily come and go as we pleased. They were happy to help and give recommendations whenever needed, and even helped carry our luggage to the car when my partner hurt his foot! The Full English Breakfast was so delicious and the highlight of our trip. We had stayed at a 5* hotel the night before and this was much better! We did not choose from a menu and there was not a buffet; we were told that they could make us pretty much whatever we wanted, which was a lovely touch. Coffee, Fresh Juice, Toast/Jams & Cereal were also provided. We will definitely be back again, and would recommend to family & friends.
