Brilliant little place.....my dog clearly has 1:1 attention and stimulus during his stays, comes away happy, motivated and calm. Claire and her team are highly recommended.

My dog has had Agility training with Claire. She is also a regular day boarder and has stayed for longer boarding weeks. She is always happy to be left there with not even a backward glance as I drop her off. I have recommended Tynevermoor to several friends and they have been happy with the care they have received.

Our two puppies were sent to Tynevermoor for 10 days of residential training. When Claire went to collect our dogs we were surprised when she opened up the door of a nearby windowless van where our dogs had been left in the back, in cages, in the dark, for at least the hour we were there. The puppies bolted from the van and paid no attention to us. They were obsessed with Claire who held kibble in her hand. As she spoke to us she would throw food onto the ground and our puppies completely ignored us in order to devour the food. A normal and courteous reaction would be to stand back and let the owners greet their dogs... but Claire kept throwing the food and they would scramble to eat it. It felt strange and wrong. How hungry does a dog have to be to ignore its owners? Claire explains the benefits of 'train feeding' them - ie her method appears to be to keep dogs very hungry in order to get their attention. That is not training. Anyone can 'train' a dog if you do not feed them and make them desperate. We were told our dogs would get basic training, however Claire called them 'pup pup pup' rather than their names and a trilling whistle noise she makes - so their name recall was bad and worse than when we had left them. During their stay we had been sent photographs of an area where they supposedly slept in a large space in a large crate with mats - only to find out that they were moved from space to space. Claire admitted that they were exceptionally busy and moved the dogs around to 'wherever was convenient' which is not what had been agreed. Our dog's bed was completely chewed and destroyed - a behaviour they have not shown before or since either at home or boarding. While we were there Claire's father walked past with a group of their own dogs - he was gruff and short-tempered with them and called them by *numbers* rather than by names.. My daughter and I were shocked at the state of our puppies, and their reactions to us. I was too surprised to say anything and just wanted to get out of there. On the drive home we had to stop as the dogs were fighting viciously with each other in the back seat - and were feral to the point my daughter was scared and cried .. they are golden retrievers and were only 4 months old ..we gave them water and some food and a short walk to calm them down. They were clearly very hungry and dehydrated and we felt horrible for having left them there. I will never send my pets there again. There seem to be positive reviews but this was unfortunately our experience.
