Exceptional! Both food and service were brilliant

Visited recently and sat in the bar for a meal and some drinks with friends, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Better still dogs are welcome in the bar area. Lovely pub with beautiful views of the castle and a very welcoming outside area for sunny days. Ive been many times and the food is always spot on, especially the Sunday roasts.

Visited the Q&C on Friday 28th of April for a friends birthday, we come here every year, we ended up walking out. The service was appalling! The waiter (whose name we didn't get) got 4 out of 5 drinks wrong! Brought a heavily pregnant lady wine when non alcoholic gin was requested, completely forgot 2 people's drinks and then got the sparkling wine wrong. He eventually got it right and took out start4t and main order... Or so we thought. After waiting over 40 minutes we enquiried about our food which still hadn't turned up to be lied too about technical difficulties with the orders, we know for a fact this was a lie as all the other tables around us ordered and received there food within this time frame. The manager then informed us our order hasn't even been put through by the waiter and wasnt recorded on our table. Our table was not checked on at all by the waiter which would have resolved any problems immediately. We left very disappointed by this experience and went to an independent pub (the new inn) who bent over backwards to accommodate us!
