Crustum is a bread shop in Kenilworth where all the bread for sale is baked on the premises. For me, I much prefer to buy bread that is local and not served over the counter in plastic bags and might have been driven half way across the county prior to being sold! The bread comes unsliced, this is good for me, I prefer to slice my own loaves, I can decide how thick or thin I wish the slices to be! The bread at Crustum may not be the cheapest, in my opinion though it is very good value. I support Giles the head baker and all the helpers who work at Crustum. However Giles I would suggest that it might be worthwhile to your customers and to you in the long term if your communication was clearer. In what way you might ask! Well for example on Thursday 5th January 2023, on the Crustum website I ordered a large Windrush and a small Wholemeal loaf to pick up on the next day (Friday) at 10:30 am. On Friday as I approached the shop I noticed the blind was up! I got to the door, the sign said closed, the light was off, another notice said closed until 18th January 2023. Crustum closed, OK I will go and buy bread from another shop in Kenilworth, not a problem for me. But Giles... 1. Why not put a message on your website to say you are closed until 18th January 2023? 2. Why not prevent orders being placed until 18th January? Doing this might stop customers from ordering bread and expecting to pick it up the day after during early January 2023. When in fact bread cannot be picked up until 18th January! .... Just a thought! Kind regards Rob
