Well Kendal - Helme Chase

My review is mixed as the pharmacists here are great and helpful. Unfortunately they are let down by a couple of awful members of staff, my poor Dad was spoken to like dirt by one of the ladies there and came away feeling un listened to and confused about his prescription. I would avoid this place as you don't know who you are going to get at the counter, as I said some are fine.

Went to collect a prescription for my daughter who is away but didn't know that the medication had to be changed. The woman on the counter wasn't too bad but the actual pharmacist was abrupt & rude. Very unprofessional & when I asked what time it would be ready they didn't know but the pharmacist shouted through "as as possible hopefully

Having been a regular customer for mine and my partners prescriptions for several years, we had a really bad experience with a particularly rude and defensive locum pharmacist who we'd never met before. I logged an official complaint, no response. The branch manager is just dismissive and abrupt and unconcerned. I now dread every time I have to ring for and pick up our prescriptions. Most of the other staff are lovely, friendly, helpful. But since when has it been acceptable for a locum manager, after a slight disagreement wherein myself and my partner were in no way abusive, to refuse to give your essential medications? The branch manager is often quite bad tempered and unhelpful.

What a dire experience on my first visit to this pharmacy. Told the assistant I had a private prescription through Benenden to collect and provided the reference number. The assistant could not find it on the system. I heard the pharmacy manager tell her to ask for my name and date of birth which I duly provided. The prescription still could not be found. The manager then came out front and asked Me to explain what I needed. I did so and then he said I should have told the assistant this was a private prescription and given my name and date of birth. I said perhaps she should have asked for these details if she had needed them and reiterated I had clearly said thus was a private prescription through Benenden. He said that it could have been an NHS private prescription. I said to him does Benenden sound like NHS. I wasted no more time in a dispensary which was not only inept but where a manager who had not been present was trying to tell me what I had said. Totally unprofessional so I left and went to Wells in Maud Streer where although they did not have my prescription in stock they not only helped me immediately without any issue and they were so cheery and polite. Staff at Helme Chase could learn from their other practice.
